Ben Bishop is a strategic leader with deep experience shaping growth, brand, and operational strategy for QSRs and companies across food, beverage, and retail.
At Starbucks, Ben spent over a decade in roles spanning both Retail and CPG. As head of Brewed & Iced Coffee, he led the growth of the Nitro Cold Brew platform, launched Cold Foam innovations, and significantly improved profitability across the coffee portfolio. He later led Product Strategy, where he established Starbucks’ portfolio approach—balancing innovation with disciplined margin management. Most recently, Ben led the Digital Order Fulfillment team, helping stores and baristas adapt to the rapid rise in mobile ordering with smarter tools and workflows.
Earlier in his career, Ben was a consultant at Bain & Company, where he advised Fortune 500 clients on growth, operational efficiency, and M&A. His focus was in Retail and CPG, with particular depth in unit-level profitability and strategic planning.
Today, as the founder of Diagonal Strategy, Ben partners with leadership teams at high-potential food, beverage, and retail brands to bring structure to complexity. His work helps companies focus on what matters most—through smarter assortment strategies, loyalty programs, and brand positioning that drive both performance and clarity.
Additionally, he serves on the board of Backpack Brigade, a non-profit focused on ending weekend hunger for children.
